Customer's request

Our customer was looking for a lace warping machine to replace a very old machine for which the technology is no longer produced. In addition, the warp beams were very small in measurement (Ø300-Ø700) and the yarn very light (as of 20 dTex).

Several warp beams are mounted side by side in a loom for lace. This allowed the existing machine to warp multiple bundles of yarn side by side to obtain exact copies during the beaming process. The total width here exceeded 6 m (4 warp beams).

With the warping and weaving of lace, no reeds are used; instead, eyelet plates are used, which follow the entire path from warping to weaving beam to loom.

In a nutshell: this project presented an interesting challenge to offer a lightweight, versatile machine as a solution.

Our realisation

A smaller, lighter drum had to be designed for the very light yarn with minimal inertia. In this process, we also provided a customised motor-to-motor drive and an optimised braking system.

We managed to produce identical beams with minimum beam tension from 80 N across beam widths up to 2.2 m as the final result.
